PALILULA NIGHT 2014 - IN THE HEART OF PALILULA Despite bad weather conditions, according to tradition, at Palilula railway stop in Episkopska street, traditional cultural manifestation Palilula night 2014 was organized by Palilula Municipality, Nis. This year programme was in the sign of remembering 100 years from the beginning of Great War and 70 years of Nis liberation in Second WW together with preserving historical and cultural heritage of Serbian people and memories on great courage of Serbian soldiers for freedom. Many thousands of people from Nis and Palilula and great number of guests from other areas came. Programme started in 19 30 with the presentation of talented young solo singers Karaoke Palilula Fest. Ivan Prokic, Milena Blagojevic, Dalibor Stankovic, Natalija Dimitrijevic and Andrijana Stojanovic who presented themselves to public. Next was `Mladost` - folk dancing group Alija Jasarevic appeared on the stage.`Kovilje` from Vukmanovo village - cultural artistic dance group, brought us, in the best way as they always do, folk music on old instruments and folk dances from this part of Serbia. They are the winners of Serbia for rural area and winners of world and Balkan festivals within the sphere of preserving tradition and culture. KUD Kovilje performs rituals, oro dances, folk music and songs in the manner as their ancestor did in XVII, XVIII, XIX and XX cent. Their music is played on old and now forgotten musical instruments like: goc, gajde, and it is played in original folk made costumes as one can only see today in museums. Everything is pure of folk origin, authentic, autochthonic and without any stylization, says one of the presidents and founders of this society Dragisa Todorovic. Heading towards the jubilee of 100 years of Great War start, Nis Safari Club cherished the memories on the soldiers from that war with the expedition that is started with Municipal help, more than 3,500 km, starting from July 28 from Nis on the day of the beginning of the Great war and in their unique way joined the remembering 100 years of their fight. Vlasta Stanijevic, president of Safari Club Nis with the help of photo and video presentation spoke about the impressions from their trip. So&So pop rock band closed this year Palilula Night. |
